The intense aroma of this espresso does not hide the signs of dark roasting. Its bitterness comes together with caramel sweetness, a touch of sour cherry acidity and hints of smoke and spiciness.
Taste
The taste of Jabobs Intenso is dominated by herbal bitterness that allows only a light touch of creamy sweetness to round its edges.

The extraction process is flawless and produces tall crema.

Jacobs uses good-looking aluminium capsules packaged in a paper box with an unimpressive design. You may recycle the capsules by collecting them (emptied) with your metal refuse, or via recycling schemes such as that of Nespresso. Jacobs describes Espresso 10 Intenso as strong and spicy. The intensity rating is 10 out of 12.
Notes
Espresso 10 Intenso is exactly as Jacobs states – a strong cup of espresso. It proudly shows its dark-roast bitterness, but in our eyes, it lacks more subtle notes.
Jacobs branded capsules are offered by Jacobs Douwe Egberts company in parallel to another range of aluminium capsules – L’Or Espresso. Jacobs capsules are, in our opinion, positioned below the L’Or Espresso capsules.
