Brazil by Taylors of Harrogate
Brazil Yellow Bourbon coffee from Taylors is excellent. Each capsule reliably delivers a well-balanced cup of sweet coffee with fruity notes, a hint of cocoa, and an aroma of well-roasted coffee.
Aroma
Well balanced aroma with bitter-sweet notes of chocolate and well-roasted coffee.
Taste
We could distinguish pleasant cocoa notes, sweet strawberries and even light floral tones. It has well-balanced coffee bitterness, fruity sweetness and some pleasant acidity without any hints of beans being overly roasted.
Extraction
Each capsule consistently delivers the right amount of coffee with nice crema.

Packaging
The box itself is rather nice and the cool designer pattern inside makes is even more interesting. Capsules are plastic with an aluminium foil lid and have a respectable colour and clean lines. They will look fine in a capsule holder. Capsules are not biodegradable and the combination of materials they are made of makes them difficult to recycle. The description on the box promises dark and smokey coffee with notes of roasted walnuts and toffee fudge. Taylors rate the strength of this coffee as 8 out of 10.
Notes
It is refreshing that Taylors offer us not only information about the origin of their coffee (which in itself is a positive sign) but also about the variety of the coffee beans hidden in their capsules. This is still not very typical outside of the realm of the speciality roasters. So, what do the typical Brazilian Yellow Bourbon beans give us? We should expect low-acidity sweet coffee with notes of chocolate and nuts. And this is basically what we’ve found.
